muschiosauro PTHRONK: "a mix of jazz, punk, thrash, prog and funk". I'm always a bit skeptical when a band claims to have invented a brand new genre - and with a name like that! - but one listen was enough to wash away my doubts. These guys know how to rock and how to deliver formidable bursts of energy, ideas, originality and power, blending disparate genres with no trace of aimless self-indulgence. The result is a great, dynamic and intelligent album. Long live PTHRONK! Favorite track: Hipsterminate.

Marshall Lochbaum The jazz, prog, and funk influences are easy enough to spot, but remarkable vision and execution turn these and some sampled 50s sci-fi radio into much more. It's the definitive release in a genre that didn't even exist. Favorite track: Hipsterminate.
Deidre House

Deidre House I really liked Thunkfish's 2013 EP, and this preview track just rips. The guitar tone is much meatier, it's almost metal(while retaining their groove). I have high hopes for this album.
Update: Expectations met. This is a great album! Favorite track: Militant Wasp Faction.
